Indigestion due to acid reflux has been a serious problem for many people especially at the present time with increasingly unhealthy lifestyle trends. More and more people complain heartburn.  It is true that drugs and antacids are beneficial in alleviating the symptoms of indigestion. On the other hand, there are domestic remedies for indigestion that are natural and effective.

With many people using the colored pills (PPIs) to treat their condition, the money making industry of heartburn medication is becoming a huge business It is a sad truth that people are resorting to treatments and medications rather than stepping up to prevent the disorder. After all prevention remains the best cure.

Fortunately, there are so many ways that you can try to get rid of heartburn. It all boils down to how you live your life. Are you living a healthy lifestyle or not? You can ask yourself this question: How's my diet? You must understand that acid reflux is rooted  from unhealthy lifestyle and poor eating habits. Most people are so in denial about these. Nevertheless, it pays to be honest especially when health is concerned.

Now that you know that poor diet and unhealthy lifestyle is one of the acid reflux causes, it is important to maintain a proper balanced diet at all times. Be diet conscious and start eating right. One of the simplest yet powerful changes you can do to improve your diet is to eat plenty of high fiber foods everyday.High fatty foods trigger acid reflux and indigestions so stay away from them or lessen your intake if possible.

Increasing the level of fiber in your diet will make a significant impact in heartburn prevention. The goal to eat high fiber is good but lessening fat intake, especially when you're used to it, should be done gradually until your bodies are able to adjust. If your stomach is accustomed to low levels of fiber abrupt changes may give you unpleasant side effects such as abdominal cramps, gas pain and bloating. The remedy is to take things one step at a time.

Recommended foods for people who have acid reflux are: Cereals, apples, pasta, green peas, potatoes, rice, low fat skimmed milk, carrots and cabbage. Try to eat light protein meats such as fish or chicken because they are easily digested by your stomach. Everybody knows that vegetables are healthy but the truth is, not everyone likes vegetables much. If you have an acid reflux or indigestion problems it is very important to eat a lot of them as they greatly help in digestion. Eating spicy foods is not good because it triggers acid reflux.

To get rid of acid reflux, it is imperative to modify one's diet plan. Through a good diet, indigestion symptoms are not only cured but the root cause of acidity is relieved. Once you're on with a healthy diet, your one step away from the complete healing process.

  3. QUESTION:
I took a home pregnancy test, turned out neg but have odd symtoms. am I pregnant?
I am only 2 days late for my period but am slightly concerned because of some symptoms that I am having. I was 3 days early for my period last month and it was lighter then usual. I have been craving things that I don't eat-like carrots and celery and have been going as far as to buying them at work to satisfy the crunchy feeling. My breasts are swollen and my nipples are very sore. I have this heavy like feeling in my lower abdomen, I've been constipated and the feeling in the abdomen does not go away even after constipation leaves. My vagina is tighter then normal, and has been for about 2 weeks now, tight enough for my boyfriend to notice. I've been more sensitve toward people and watching a show with babies in it almost makes me cry. I also have odd feelings, almost a yearning to have children, which for me is odd considering I don't want kids until I'm in my late 20's. I had heartburn after eating pasta, corn and pork last night, I haven't had heartburn in years. Am I pregnant?
I'm a little concerned that this could also be a health problem of sort. The symptoms could be anything...
are there any other signs I should be looking out for? I know you should probably wait to be 2 weeks late from your period before you should consider pregnancy, but I'm anxious about this and conception could have happened 2-5 times this month. My biyfriend never goes off inside(I know, stupid idea.)
So I took 2 more pregnancy tests with my morning pee and one of them had a very light line on it but it looked more like an indentation where the 'T' lone would be. The other one also had it but it was hardly there at all.
I'm spotting a little but have pain. It isn't like period pain, it is sharp and feels like something is "slicing" me downward. It isnt constant nor is it a cramp. The spotting is very, very light.

    • ANSWER:

  4. QUESTION:
my husband has something with his stomach, he feels miserable as he eats and especially after, ..?
this happens constantly. he is in pain alot, has heartburn alot. he feels really bad after eating things like pasta or eggs? is this food allergies? last night he started throwing up, that may have nothing to do with it, i just wonder if anyone has any ideas what this is? i am trying to get him to the doctor of course as well...

    • ANSWER:
You didn't mention where exactly the pain was, but this sounds a lot like my step-mom, who just had surgery for diverticulitis, which is something like a hernia of the intestine. One of the pamphlets she was given in the hospital said symptoms often worsen during and after eating (though the site I'm attaching doesn't mention that particular symptom).

    • ANSWER:
You should see a doctor!!! I did have some of these symptoms with my acid refluxes. I dropped about 20 pounds and it seemed to stop. I went from about 212 to 190. If you think you have acid refluxes, try dropping a few pounds before you do anything major. And definitely see a doctor. Good Luck
